Zavala County Warrant RecordsZavala County Warrant Records

Use the official office. For a district case, contact the District Clerk; the Sheriff’s Office handles county service and custody; JP or Crystal City Municipal Court staff handle their own lower-court cases. This site is privately operated and cannot verify, recall, or clear a warrant. The contact guide below separates those case-status routes from written requests for county records. Have the citation or cause number ready, and confirm the right office before traveling. A Texas lawyer can advise about a specific warrant, bond, or appearance.

This Is Not a Government or Law-Enforcement Office. Zavala County Warrant Records cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, arrange a surrender, take payment, post bond, change court records, or give legal advice. Contact the issuing court for case status.

Need Official Warrant Information?

These routes cover the offices most likely to hold or serve a Zavala County record. Give the clerk the court name and case or citation number when possible.

Posted weekday hours are 8 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The district court’s primary contacts are centered in Eagle Pass, so confirm the destination before traveling.

  • Crystal City citation: Municipal Court, 101 E. Dimmit Street, 830-374-2923, Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. City pages show differing contact details, so verify the current number before travel.
  • Existing county records: send a written request headed “Public Information Request” to judge@zavalacounty.gov or mail Attention: Open Records at 200 East Uvalde Street, Suite 9, Crystal City, Texas 78839. The request should name the records sought; the county posts no warrant-specific fee or turnaround promise.

The issuing court is the source for whether its process was recalled or remains active. A phone answer from another office may cover only that office’s records.

What to Have Ready

Before calling, read the court name and number from the citation, notice, bond paper, or case document. Give the clerk the cause number when one appears. If no number is available, provide enough identifying information for the clerk to locate the file and ask what information is needed. Do not assume the person with the same name is the person named in the case. Confirm the spelling, court, and type of process before discussing a payment or appearance.

Ask the clerk to state whether the file shows an active warrant, a recalled process, an FTA, a capias, a capias pro fine, or only an unpaid balance. Find out whether the judge requires an appearance, whether payment needs advance approval, and how the court will document compliance. A receipt may show that money was accepted without proving that a warrant was withdrawn. Request a written confirmation or ask when the court record should reflect the next step.

Confirm Hours and Office

The county posts some JP hours but does not list a JP1 or JP4 schedule. The Sheriff’s Office page does not identify a dedicated warrant line or warrant window. Crystal City pages also differ on some phone details. Use each official page for the current contact, then call before traveling. The County Clerk, District Clerk, local JPs, city court, sheriff, and jail each handle a limited part of the process, so ask to be directed to the office that owns the case rather than treating one call as a countywide clearance.

Written County Requests

A written request should identify an existing record as specifically as possible. The county instructions ask for the words Public Information Request, the requester’s name and contact details, and a description of the material. A request for a particular document is different from asking the county to search every court, build a new database, or certify that a person has no warrant. The county lists no warrant-specific fee or response-time promise, so check the instructions before sending a request and keep a copy of what was submitted.

When the question concerns a specific case, send it first to the court named on the paper. If the court directs a visitor elsewhere, record the office name and number rather than repeating a broad request to several desks. For county service or custody, the Sheriff’s Office and County Jail publish separate phone contacts. Those offices cannot answer for a city court or every JP file. For a city citation, Crystal City Municipal Court is the city route found in the official review; the city contact page and court page do not show identical phone details, so verify before travel.

The online payment vendors are separate from the clerk’s status record. JP1, JP3, and JP4 payment links may open vendor pages, while Crystal City uses a different citation lookup. A vendor transaction can generate a receipt, but the issuing clerk must explain whether it satisfies a judgment, changes an FTA report, or recalls a warrant. This contact page does not accept case materials or pass a visitor’s message to a judge.
